FEMINSM I totally agree with what Emma Watson says in the class video, feminism is equality between men and women, having the same rights, duties and opportunities, a feminist woman is not against men, she is against bullies, now for either physical, mental or verbal aggression. As we get older, we are “taught” more things to take care of ourselves and we become aware of more inequalities. They teach women from childhood to dress to "prevent", or not to walk alone at night, to always be accompanied. When a man goes out alone, the greatest risk he runs is an assault, but if a woman goes out alone, it is very likely that things will be shouted at her, she is also at risk of assault, but also kidnapping and rape. In my first year of college, I realized that women in summer preferred to wear long pants to avoid situations in the subway or on the street. They also told me to always wear comfortable shoes that allow me to run in case of danger. Why do they teach us to take care of
My future job I am not very clear on what I want to work in the future specifically, I would like to work in laboratories, hospitals, in the forensic area, or perhaps in some industry, but if or if I want to work in hospitals, this area of work calls my attention. the profession, but I'm not sure if it's what I want to dedicate my whole life to, In this prefesion I find many interesting specialties. But if I want to work at some point abroad, maybe at Spain, save money and travel a little around Lately I have thought that at some point in the future, already more established, having traveled enough, working in a quiet place in the south of Chile, maybe in a hospital, this is because I would really like to know the whole south of the country , and the landscapes relax a lot, and I think life is more peaceful there, another thing that I have clear, is that I do not want to work in Santiago, or at least not do it for a long time, it is a city that stresses me a lot , and I don&#
this year I think this year was the worst, for the anxiety associated with the pandemic, my mom  had to work triple the normal amount, and sometimes she was in contact with many people, and although she was careful, there is always a risk of contagion, especially when she is very stressed because the defenses are lowered, what causes anxiety, also the online university is exhausting, Although I feel that in some subjects I have learned much more than if they were face-to-face, in others I know nothing. I raised my grades, but I have studied a lot more than previous years, for me every day is the same, a weekend I study exactly the same as a weekday, and it is exhausting, because since you can't leave the house,  you can't go out with friends, it is difficult to have moments to forget about studies.  But it still has good things, on one side, since I am not from Santiago, this year I have spent much more time with my family, I have seen more of my parents, my little brothers, i
Study Chemistry and Pharmacy: advantages and disadvantages I'm studying chemistry and pharmacy, I'm in fourth semester, so I don't really know the positives and negatives of the profession in general, but I can talk about my experience until now and what I know. The positives I've found until now, as QF, we can do different things in the health area, we can work in a hospital, in charge of different  homeworks, we can work in industry of cosmetics, chemistry, pharmaceutics. In each one, we can do different things. Also, we can work in regulatory agencies, investigation, teaching and we can work in pharmacy. I was very afraid to decide a profession and think that I will be the rest of my life doing the same, but with this profession, that changes. That is one of the things that made me choose study chemistry and pharmacy, in addition that I wanted to study something related to health and the chemistry  And the negative aspect that I have found so far, is basically the d

My best holidays  My best holidays were from January to February 2018 because I went to many places, in the first days of January I went to Pichilemu with my frinds about 3 or 4 days, I don't remember Then, I went  camping at the national reserve: Lake Peñuelas, with my scout gruop for a week Later, I went to Iquique with my brothers, my dad and my grandsparents for a week too, here I  jumped on paragliders, and we walk to much (mi brothers wanted to hunt pokemons, so we went a almost  all places walking) And finally, I went to Coñaripe with my brothers, my mom, my aunt and some cousins for a week or more, I don't remember, but every day we were going to a diferentt place, one day we went to Pucon, other Villarrica, Caburga. Basically every day we went a different beach , but when it rained, we went to walk or simply we just stayed in the house Another thing I remember is that on this vacation, I read a lot and bought very books in the craft fair

WHERE WOULD I LIKE TO GO? It is difficult to choose a single country, but I always have wanted to go to Spain, because I don’t know that place and I know that in this country chemistry and pharmacy is more advanced,So, I want to go to study a postgraduate or something similar, or go to work after finishing university, i don´t know, maybe both at the same time But, i also want to know the country, tour, food, culture, famous places, and not famous places, the people... I want to meet everything I also would like too, once there, save money and travel to neighboring countries, maybe tour around Europe,   like Italy and French, in speacially Paris, this is other place i want to go, since I was a child, my dream was know the Eiffel Tower. So "my plan" is study or work in Spain, save money and travell for all possible places leaving to travel to France, but for this, I want to learn languages, at least speak English well
Evaluation of my Blogging Experience I really liked the blogging experience, some topics were very interesting and I learned several new things, like the person who created Coca Cola is a pharmaceutical chemist! I find it great and it motivates me a lot for the future, I also liked and helped this instance a lot to express myself and get a little out of my routine and my studies, also my abilities to express myself (at least write) are better. I think that in the future, when you are more involved with the career, or if you are already working, you could have more material to share on blogs, it would also be good to write of more serious problems to raise awareness and make what is happening in the country and the world is more visible, such as global warming, droughts, the feminist movement, or that people are already demanding what they deserve, or perhaps to speak of little-known diseases, or that are known but are not taken seriously. Anyway, I appreciate the experience esp

My reflection in the pandemic In these times I have thought a lot, but the last days, it has been horrible, realizing that justice and society in this country, does not respect or value women.  In my family, we are four brothers, and I am the only woman, and I have always complained because I had many more rules than them, I always thought it was because of "machismo" but now I also know that it is because of fear. It is unfair that from a young age they teach us how to dress, not to walk at night, to wear comfortable shoes in the streets in case we have to run, instead of teaching respect. It is unfair that I have to invent "false boyfriends" so that men stop bothering me, because they respect another man more than a "NO". I hope that all the next generations do not have to demand respect, that they can walk the streets safely, that they can dress as they like and drink alcohol without having to worry about something happening to them. For this a
A subject you've studying this semester This semester has been very strange in different ways, for this reason I haven’t enjoyed the classes so much, so it is difficult for me to decide a favorite subject, but in analytical chemistry we saw qualitative analysis, a unit that I had a hard time understanding last year, but now, the unit became very easy and entertaining, where they put a sample problem with unknown ions and we had to discover what ions it had, obviously all theoretical.  This subject excites me a lot to be able to do it in a laboratory later on, seeing how the same sample can take different colorations if it is exposed to different things, I find it interesting and very entertaining. Also, analytical chemistry has a lot of calculation, which is simple and very easy to understand, so I could say that this subject is my favorite of the semester

Rosalind  Franklin  She was born on July 25, 1920 in Notting Hill, London, England. He studied chemistry at Cambridge and learned crystallography and X-ray diffraction, techniques that he applied to DNA fibers. One of her photographs provided key information about the structure of DNA. Other scientists used it as evidence to back up their DNA model and took credit for the discovery. Franklin died of ovarian cancer in 1958, at age 37. Some say that the recognition of her contribution was stolen by two scientists: James Watson and Francis Crick. They did not give recognition for the work to Franklin, who died in 1958, at age 39, without being recognized by the scientific community. Rosalind Franklin is the scientist to whom we owe everything we know about DNA. For me she was the most important woman in the history of modern chemistry. Her contributions to science involve the study of the structures of carbon, graphite, DNA, RNA, and viruses. I admire her because despite the time i

Thinking in the future I really like the career I chose, because it is a perfect mix of science and health, in one way or another you are always connected with people's health without having to have physical contact with them. It also has a lot of work, I can work in a hospital, in a pharmacy, in a laboratory synthesizing medicines, hygiene products or makeup, I can dedicate myself to research, or in the forensic area (this subject calls my attention) I feel that in the future I will not get bored of thecareer because I have many different options to make. At some point I would like to try all the areas to know which one I really like, because it is not the same to do things for them to tell you about it. But the ones that call my attention the most, in the clinical, laboratory or forensic area. Working in a pharmacy I don't think it's very fun, but I still want to work for a while there, because it is like the base and I would learn a lot, it would be a good

A  photagraph.   A story My great-grandmother turned 100 in May, but we couldn't celebrate her for the Covid-19, but this summer we took this picture in Colina. In it is almost the whole family from my mother, some uncles of my mother and some of her brothers are missing, but as you can see we are a very large family. In this photo there are 5 generations, from my great-grandmother, Lita, to the children of my cousins That day was very hot, and we took too long taking the photos, because we were so many that someone always came out looking elsewhere, we were also in full sun and it bothered our faces, but the most difficult thing was taking the photos with the children, keeping them orderly for so long was almost impossible. We took several photos, one of Lita with her children, another with her grandchildren, another with her great-grandchildren, with her great-great-grandchildren and in the end we took one all together. My mom always told me that she studied f

SCOUT IN MY LIFE At 8 years old I joined my first group, Villa Maria, it was small, but that's why everyone knew each other, everyone played with everyone, big with boys ... we were like a very big family, most of our leaders were teachers, We went camping together, and they were really known differently. The relationship with the friends you make in scouting are much deeper than the others, you can camp with them for 1 or 2 weeks, and you really get to know them too well, some become like brothers, best friends. For me scout it is not only "a Saturday activity", it is a whole way of life, apart from the fact that relationships with people are closer, it also gives you resources to face life, from very basic things like learning to cook until how to deal with your emotions. Being in this movement helped me a lot in difficult times, it gave me great friends, several memories... So, I got a Flower of a Liz tattoo, a scout symbol, with an infinity to say that thi

WHAT'S MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY?

Image
I have different pieces of technology and it's hard to choose just one. A few months ago, I would say that my cell phone is my favorite piece of technology, but now with online classes I don't know what I would do without my notebook.  My uncle gave it to me shortly after entering university about 3 years ago. Principally I use that for study and view online classes. When I have free time I also use it to watch movies and series on Netflix and sometimes when I have a lot of free time I read. I practically used it all day, every day, my eyesight is getting worse! Before this computer, they always gave me my older brother’s old computer so they were always old or a little broken, but this is in very good condition, the screen is big and it has a good processor and it is fast, also the keyboard has lights and I love that! Now, it would really be very difficult for me study without my computer, because I would have to share one with my brothers who are also with on
Why I choose my career When a was a child, I wanted to be a vet, a doctor, baby panda keeper , painter or austronaut. As I got older I started to like the chemistry a lot as well as phisics and biology.  When I was a choose a career, I was between biochemistry, chemistry and pharmacy, medicine or medical technology, but everyone told me to study medicine, but  the career that includes everything I like, chemistry and working in the health area is chemistry and pharmacy. In my experience, at the  university there are good and bad moments, sometimes I love the university, I love to learn ant the enviroment, but other times I hate it completely, especially now with online classes.  But I really like what I am studying and in the futere I would like to work in a laboratory, in the clinical area, in animal medicine or in the forensic area. I really like almost all the areas that I can work, so I still haven't made up my mind

Now, I'm studying Chemistry and Pharmacy in universidad de Chile.  For this, I traveled all the weekends to Machali. When I went to school, every saturday, i was going to Scout, first I was in the school group, Villa Maria, but closed in 2014, so I switched to the Quitrahue group. Now, in the university, unfortunately the times aren't enough. My favourites hobbies are reading and painting, apart from watch series and movies on Netflix.
